You are becoming, you are not breaking.
If this is true why then when I was going through my dark day of the soul did I feel totally broken?
Feeling everything, feeling different.
Still me but also not me at all.
I had different thoughts about the world.
Can you relate?
If this is you, if you too are questioning it all – I hear you, I have been there, I have lived it.
Feeling scared, down for no reason that you can really pinpoint, unhappy and slightly broken.
But also the knowing deep down that what you are feeling is actually not a bad thing.
Its growth, evolving.
A movement away from the life you once wanted and finding a path towards a new life.
But that new life, that new path is scary.
It’s hard and uncomfortable, but somewhere inside of you I am willing to bet you are feeling slightly liberated too.
The reason for this is because despite what you may be thinking these changes are not actually a bad thing.
It is my belief that when you get to this space it is a sign that you’re becoming the person you were meant to be, not breakingJane Elizabeth x
In this place where you are realising that you are more than the box you have been placed in, you are realising who you truly are and who you were truly meant to be, you are breaking free once and for all.
Its scary as all hell.
There will be people in your life that wont like the changes that are taking place.
You may feel that you are growing away from the life you have right now.
With a mind reeling, trying to get used to the new you.
What if everything you know changes?
If you cant cope or if you can never go back even if you want to?
The only thing I know for certain…….
You are going on a wild ride learning about yourself and realising the beauty (and the pain) of self-discovery.
I found a passage of words that I think sums up this journey perfectly,
Its beautiful, its inspiring, its exactly as I felt when I went through it – and it went viral on facebook.
This piece is by John Roedel from his book called “Hey God, Hey John”
Enjoy, it, let the words sink in
(If you are not religious replace the word god with whatever you feel is more relevant to you – universe or higher self works for me) .
The passage can help you realise that you too are becoming, you are not breaking.
“Hey God, Hey John”
Me: I’m falling apart. Can you put me back together?
God: I would rather not.
God: Because you aren’t a puzzle.
Me: What about all of the pieces of my life that are falling down onto the ground?
God: Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a reason. Take some time and decide if you need any of those pieces back.
Me: You don’t understand! I’m breaking down!
God: No – you don’t understand. You are breaking through. What you are feeling are just growing pains. You are shedding the things and the people in your life that are holding you back. Not falling apart. But falling into place. Relax. Take some deep breaths and allow those things you don’t need anymore to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that don’t fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them go.
Me: Once I start doing that, what will be left of me?
God: Only the very best pieces of you.
Me: I’m scared of changing.
God: I keep telling you – YOU AREN’T CHANGING!! YOU ARE BECOMING!
Me: Becoming who?
God: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light and love and charity and hope and courage and joy and mercy and grace and compassion. I made you for more than the shallow pieces you have decided to adorn yourself with that you cling to with such greed and fear. Let those things fall off of you. I love you! Don’t change! … Become!
Be who I made you to be.
I’m going to keep telling you this until you remember it.
Me: There goes another piece.
God: Yep. Let it be.
Me: So … I’m not broken?
God: Of course Not! – but you are breaking like the dawn. It’s a new day. Become!!!~
I came out of my darkness…….
I came out of my darkness and was led to here, my work, my blog, my podcast, my YouTube channel, the beautiful souls I work with and help along their way.
And all the while still growing, still learning, still evolving – its a never ending path once we choose it.
I’m leaning into myself, my soul, my intuition and that feels brave and empowering and liberating.
I want you to know that no matter how dark things seems there is always light – find it, trust it and let it lead you.
Let me help you break free from your chains and lean in to yourself, your growth, your journey – find your liberation.
